Our “Ratanakiri Kayaking tours” take you on a kayaking trip along Ratanakiri’s remote Tonle San River, passing through jungles and tribal regions and including visits to different ethnic minority villages and a hike to a jungle waterfall. Camping overnight on the banks of the river.

Day 1: Phnom Penh – Kratie – Ratanakiri  sightseeing Tours
Day 2: Ratanakiri – Ta Veng – Kayaking tours
Day 3: Ta Veng – Ban Lung Kayaking Tours
Day 4: Ban Lung Adventure Tours
Day 5: Ban Lung – Phnom Penh

Day 1 – Cambodia Kayaking Tour For Irrawaddy Freshwater Dolphins: Phnom Penh – Kratie – Ratanakiri  sightseeing Tours (-/L/-)

Travel by private taxi to the provincial riverside town of Kratie for lunch, then to the Dolphin pools at Kampi to see the best spot for seeing Irrawaddy Freshwater Dolphins. After a boat trip to see the dolphins, continue on to Ratanakiri.

Ratanakiri is located in Cambodia’s far northeast bordered by Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, Mondulkiri to the south, and Stung Treng to the west. This rural rugged province is a 70% ethnic minority, which are known as “Chunchiet”. Ratanakiri was as recently as 2002 seriously off the beaten track but has since been “discovered” step by step.

Day 2 – Cambodia Kayaking Tour For Irrawaddy Freshwater Dolphins: Ratanakiri – Ta Veng – Kayaking tours (B/L/D)

Travel by four-wheel drive to Ta Veng town on the banks of the Tonle San River. From there begin kayaking down river, stopping along the way to visit tribal villages along the way. Total kayaking time approx. 5 hours.

Day 3 – Cambodia Kayaking Tour For Irrawaddy Freshwater Dolphins: Ta Veng – Ban Lung Kayaking Tours (B/L/D)

Continue kayaking down river, stopping for a hike into the jungle to a waterfall where you can enjoy a swim. After lunch, continue down river to different tribal villages, including Tampuon and Kraveth minorities before getting picked up by car and returning to Banlung in the evening.

Banlung is a little out of the way, but that’s what’s great about. A quiet town. Hiking opportunities. Waterfalls. A beautiful lake. Good people.

Day 4 – Cambodia Kayaking Tour For Irrawaddy Freshwater Dolphins: Ban Lung Adventure Tours (B/-/-)

Enjoy a free morning to explore Banlung and the provincial trade market, then visit Yak Lom Crater Lake in the afternoon for a short jungle walk and swimming.

Return to Phnom Penh by private car.
