DAY 1: HANOI – MAI CHAU VALLEY (-/L/D)

Start your day with a drive to Mai Chau, passing through beautiful landscapes of the Hoa Binh Province before descending into the Mai Chau Valley (approx. 3-hour drive). Stop on the way to visit a market of Muong people and admire a wonderful panorama of Mai Chau valley from Thung Khe Pass. On arrival, check in and have lunch in Lac village which is home to White Thai. Take a walking or cycling tour to explore villages scattered around hills in the afternoon. A local family will warmly welcome you into their stilted house this evening for a memorable homestay.

Day 2: Mai Chau – Pu Luong Nature Reserve (B, L, D)

Today, we will take a day trip to explore Pu Luong. Approach this stunning nature reserve, your guide will give you an opportunity to discover not only nature but also tribe communities. You visit and take a swim at the Hieu Waterfall before taking a dip at the pool at your accommodation.

Dinner and overnight in Pu Luong Retreat or Pu Luong Eco Garden

Day 3: Pu Luong – Hanoi (B)

Morning, your guide will take you on a hiking tour to admire the beauty of rice fields and mountains and learn about the way of local life at Kho Muong village. Have lunch before returning to Hanoi. If time permits, you will visit Pu Luong water wheels and take a rafting along the river after lunch.

No, all inclusions and exclusions are mentioned at our final confirmation for your trip. Generally, tipping is not compulsory. If you are satisfied with your guides, drivers, a small gratuity is an appropriate way in which to show appreciation to them.

How can I get Vietnam visa on arrival?

For those who travel with VIETLONG TRAVEL, we can arrange the visa approval letter allowing them to obtain a visa on arrival at Noibai Airport in Hanoi, Danang Airport in Danang, Tan San Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh. After 3-4 working days, we will send you the visa approval letter. We charge US$ 50 for visa on arrival at the airport. This fee is subject to change without prior notice.

How safe is Vietnam?

Vietnam is a relatively safe country to visit but there are increasing instances of theft, especially in HCMC where pickpockets and snatch thieves on motorbikes are common. The best tip is to be vigilant at all times. Leave all valuables at home, and make sure you have a firm grip on cameras and shoulder bags at all times. Our guides will advise you on dos and don'ts case by case.

What about medical insurance?

It is advised that travelers should have medical insurance before arriving in Vietnam. Although there are several international medical clinics in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, generally the country still lacks adequate medical care for serious illnesses and injuries. We advise travelers to have sufficient cover for emergency medical care as a precautionary measure.
