Day 1 / Siem Reap – Kampong Chhnang – Meals (-/-/ D)

Your cruise begins at 9:00 am from your hotel in Siem Reap where we will collect you. Then transfer you by a private, air-conditioned coach to visit Kampong Phluk floating Village a popular tourist attraction. It located on the Tanas River which flows into Tonle Sap Lake. The Village have over 1,000 permanent residents living in Stilt wooden houses. The Villages also feature a school, a Temple, a church and a number of restaurants Primarily catering to tourists.

After the tour we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before transfer to Kampong Chhnang where you will be joint Mekong Dawn Boat. The drive from Kampong Phluk to Kampong Chhnang takes around 3.5 hours. And offer a glimpse into the laid-back rural life. On the way, you can view an ancient bridge in Kampong Thom Province or make stop for coffee as you wish. Upon arrival, greeted you by our cruise members. a warm welcome drink will be served before settling into your cabin while the boat starts cruising around Kampong Chhnang floating village. Relax on deck or enjoy a drink at the bar as the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape. The day ends with a delicious dinner and a dreamy overnight on your floating hotel on the Tonle Sap River.

Day 2 / Kg Chhnang – Kampong Tralach – Koh Chen (Chinese Island) – Meals B/ L/ D

After a hearty breakfast to kick-start the day, you will be transferred to land via a smaller boat to visit the pottery village. Tuk tuks will be used to get around the villages – the perfect way to watch the stunning scenery of this province pass by. Think emerald green paddies dotted with sugar palms, smiling children screaming ‘hello’ from the stilted wooden houses they call home. After the tour you will return to the boat to enjoy a mouth-watering lunch over the magnificent water landscape. Watching fishermen float by on wooden boats, waving to over-excited children on the shore, while we sail towards Kampong Tralach.

Upon arrival, you will experience an Ox Cart ride. A traditional mode of transport that is still commonly used in rural areas or alternative cycling to visit Kampong Tralach Temple. Guests will then return back to Mekong Dawn to enjoy a sundowner with snacks and drinks served among the scenic water landscape as we cruise towards Oudong, the ancient Cambodian capital. Between 1618 and 1866, Oudong served as the country’s capital before relocating to Phnom Penh. The boat will dock at Koh Chen (Chinese Island) a small village of whose inhabitants specialize in silver and copper smiting. From where you will spend a peaceful at night.

Day 3 – Koh Chen –Koh Dach (Silk Island)- Meals – /B/ L/D

After a hearty breakfast, we will visit an Oudong Temple which sits on top of a Mountain. Tackling the 509 steps to the peak, you are rewarded with unparalleled views and a series of historic stupors, tombs and memorials that can be explored. We will then return to the boat for a leisurely lunch and enjoy relaxing afternoon while we navigate towards Koh Dach (Silk Island), located on the Mekong River where we rest for the night.

Day 4 – Siem Reap Downstream Cruise to Phnom Penh Koh Dach – Phnom Penh – Meals  /B /- /-

Wake up to a spread of local and continental cuisine, joined by the stunning backdrop of the sunrise along the river. Koh Dach also known as Silk Island. Silk Island is a typical rural Cambodian weaving village, where the population operates hand looms under most of the houses. Others dyeing and spinning silk on spinning wheels made of bicycle parts. Weaver experts will explain the weaving process in detail from silkworms to scarf’s.

After the excursion on Silk Island, we will return to the boat and move towards our final destination of Phnom Penh. ETA 11:30 noon.
