This trip to the northwest highlands of Mai Chau offers a balance of culture and adventure, set amongst some of northern Vietnam’s most stunning scenery. We spend 3 nights in ethnic minority villages, and trek for four days through villages in the Mai Chau area and overnight in Thai and Hmong villages where we have the opportunity to observe the lives of the minority peoples. From the mountainous region of Mai Chau, we travel back to the capital, Hanoi .

Day 1 – Mai Chau Adventure Trekking Tour to Xam Khoe, Xa Linh: Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Mai Chau Homestay Tours (-/-/D)

Today, we start the adventure journey to the hidden North Vietnam.
In the morning, we start from Hanoi to Hoa Binh – the nearest place from Hanoi that we can see the ethnic minorities.

Upon arrival in Hoa Binh, we will take a 2-hour boat trip on Hoa Binh Lake for relaxation & viewing daily local life of Muong and Dzao People living around the lake. After lunch at Hoa Binh, proceed to Mai Chau. The valley of Mai Chau, with Thais’ s houses-on-stilts, is surrounded by rice fields, mountains and forest.

Day 2 – Mai Chau Adventure Trekking Tour to Xam Khoe, Xa Linh: Maichau Trekking Trips – Xam Khoe – Mai Chau Adventure Tours (B/L/D)

After breakfast, transfer by car to the valley center. We start t to trek mountainsides to Xam Khoe Village. The trekking is difficult at times with some steep uphill and downhill walking, but the views are incredible however some physical preparation will enable you to fully appreciate today’s trek. Picnic lunch in a family.
Arrive back to Pom Coong Village in the afternoon.

Day 3 – Mai Chau Adventure Trekking Tour to Xam Khoe, Xa Linh: Mai Chau Adventure Tours – Xa Linh – Mai Chau Hiking Tours (B/L/D)

After breakfast, transfer by car 30km on the destination to Moc Chau. Today we have the opportunities for trekking through Hmong Villages with chance to contact local people. Picnic lunch en ruote. Transfer back to Mai Chau Valley. After dinner in a family, we have the opportunity to take part to a traditional dance show.

Day 4 – Mai Chau Adventure Trekking Tour to Xam Khoe, Xa Linh: Maichau Adventure Tour – Hanoi (B/-/-)

After breakfast, we have a cycling tour around the valley before transfer back to Hanoi.
Arrive in Hanoi in the afternoon.

 TRIP NOTE:
Viet Nam is a developing country whose infrastructure may differ from what you expect in your homeland. Road conditions are poor and accommodation may be basic in mountain region. Good weather for trek from September until June. We recommend you to bring rain jacket, inner sleeping sheets, walking boots, warm clothes, lamp torch, and toilet papers.Occasionally, this itinerary may be amended for reasons beyond our control such as weather and roads conditions.
