Day 1. Mango Cruise Mekong Tour from Saigon to Can Tho – 2 Days: Ben Tre cruising tour to Mo Cay and then towards Vung Liem (-/L/D)

08:00: We pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and depart to My Tho.

10:10: Our guide meets you at Ham Luong River in Ben Tre town where you will board the Mango Cruise. Upon boarding your private sampan, your luggage will be brought to your cabin, while you enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail on the deck and meet the crew members.

A delicious lunch will be served onboard.

Our first stop is the Mo Cay local wet market where the locals come to buy fresh fish, meat, vegetables, as well as other exotic delicacies including rat and snake. Continue to cruise along the canals and stop at a village for a short walk to visit the coconut processing place where they make coconut oils and coconut fiber. You can buy some products for your family and friends

Come back to the boat for a fresh drink and some time to relax on deck. Lunch will be served on board. We then head down Vung Liem canal to visit traditional brickworks and the lively town of Vung Liem, with its fascinating Cao Dai and Kh’mer temple. We will visit these places by bikes.

The boat will then cruise to Tra On where we will stop for the night. While on board, freshen up, and then head to the deck where you will have a cooking demonstration before enjoying a delicious, 5-course dinner onboard. The rest of the evening is spent at your leisure.

Day 2. Mango Cruise Mekong Tour from Saigon to Can Tho – 2 Days: Tra On cruising tour to Cai Rang and then towards Can Tho (B/L/-)

Get up early in the morning to visit Tra On floating market before heading to Can Tho. Stop at the spectacular Cai Rang floating market, where you will transfer to a smaller boat and mingle amongst the thousands of trading vessels. Feel free to buy yourself fruits or drinks from the local boats.

After your market visit, return to your Mango Cruise, and soak in your surroundings, before being dropped off at Ninh Kieu quay in Can Tho, and preparing for your onward trip.

Our driver will pick you up and we come back to Ho Chi Minh City. End of services.

Our standard payment policy is to ask for a 30% deposit of the package value at the time we send the final confirmation and the booking code for your trip. The balance of the total package tour price should be paid at least 21 days before starting date of the trip.

Is there any hidden cost? What about tipping?

No, all inclusions and exclusions are mentioned at our final confirmation for your trip. Generally, tipping is not compulsory. If you are satisfied with your guides, drivers, a small gratuity is an appropriate way in which to show appreciation to them.

How can I get Vietnam visa on arrival?

For those who travel with VIETLONG TRAVEL, we can arrange the visa approval letter allowing them to obtain a visa on arrival at Noibai Airport in Hanoi, Danang Airport in Danang, Tan San Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh. After 3-4 working days, we will send you the visa approval letter. We charge US$ 50 for visa on arrival at the airport. This fee is subject to change without prior notice.

How safe is Vietnam?

Vietnam is a relatively safe country to visit but there are increasing instances of theft, especially in HCMC where pickpockets and snatch thieves on motorbikes are common. The best tip is to be vigilant at all times. Leave all valuables at home, and make sure you have a firm grip on cameras and shoulder bags at all times. Our guides will advise you on dos and don'ts case by case.

What about medical insurance?

It is advised that travelers should have medical insurance before arriving in Vietnam. Although there are several international medical clinics in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, generally the country still lacks adequate medical care for serious illnesses and injuries. We advise travelers to have sufficient cover for emergency medical care as a precautionary measure.

The Sales manager was in contact with us all the time and promptly for our acceptable length of 13 days; ensuring everything was going well. Our stay and guide in Cambodia was exceptional even though we chose the 3-4 star option. Hoi An was amazing with a hotel with first class service and room; even though we arranged most of our activities prior before leaving home. The guide was kind and made good recommendations for the tailors and additional activities. The hotels in Saigon and Hanoi were conveniently located to the old town and night markets and the company included adequate activites in these two busy cities. The highlights of our tour with exceptional guides for the provided tours were Angkor Wat in Siem Reap and Halong Bay on Hanoi and the Saigon Cu Chi tunnels and City tour. Excellent tour guides who were friendly and knowledgeable. Great to have private car and guide for all activities and the tour guide was able to tailor the activity to our needs and wishes. The young type guide we had for the walking tour of Hanoi was brilliant. He was so pleasant to talk with and so knowledgeable and did everything he could to make the tour memorable including lending me his jacket to cover my shoulders when going in to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum as I had worn a sleeveless top. Another guide sorted out an internal flight for us when it's had been cancelled and got us through priority so we could catch it. Altogether very well organised and good communication throughout. Thank you. Would certainly recommend.
