This overland adventure takes you in off tourist road areas. You drive past the scenic mountain landscape, see many hill tribe groups and relax by the famous Pai River. The enchanting town of Mae Hong Son excite you with the various Burmese styled temples and the cool climate. You enjoy a walk through the lush forest in Doi Inthanon national park.

Day 1: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Arrival – Chiang Mai Package Tours
On arrival at Chiang Mai Airport, you are met by our guide and transferred to hotel. In spite of Chiang Mai being the second largest city in Thailand and the modern capital of the north, the friendliness of the people, the vibrant night bazaar, the interesting old town and the international feel never seems to fail to captivate travellers. No activities planned for this afternoon , however our guide is on hand to advise some available options.

Day 2: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Chiang Mai Sightseeing Tours (B/-/-)
The capital of the north, Chiang Mai has rich historical and cultural heritage which is still evident in the architecture with over 300 temples spreading in and around. Today we visit the most famous one set on Doi Suthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading us to Wat Prathat Temple near the summit.
At an elevation of over 1,000 m, the temple grounds affords a panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. The tranquil town of Chiang Mai has been always noted for the exquisite handicrafts made of the hill tribe people’s traditional wares. Upon leaving Doi Suthep we set off on a short drive to the neighbouring villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottages industries including silk weaving, wood carving, silver ware and umbrellas making.
We follow this with a visit to the old and new parts of the town featuring the great diversity. As a highlight of this evening , we visit the vibrant night market which is full of local treasures.

Day 3: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Chiang Mai – Mae Rim – Pai travel vacations (B/L/-)
Today we depart Chiang Mai Town and drive towards Pai via Mae Rim, using the local track past. Along the way we pass the breathtaking scenery of paddy fields, orchid farm, rolling hills and timeless villages. The roads are difficult at times but it is still very interesting journey.
We make stop at a village to stretch our legs and have lunch served by villagers. The exciting expedition leads us into Bann Papae which is famous for the tea plantation. This home production of tea makes for large incomes to villagers. Here, we have an opportunity to taste the local chewing gum made of tea leaves.
At the end of the track we follow the winding road to Pai. This fast growing town has plenty to see, some of which are hot stream, forests and river. We spend the remaining of our day to relax and explore the town on your own pace.

Day 4: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Pai – Mae Hong Son Sightseeing tours (B/L/-)
The impressive journey continues to Mea Hong Son, stopping en route at Bann Pang Paek, home of a large community of Lisu hill tribe people . They are considered the most beautiful costume in all tribes. The following site is the hidden Tam Lod Cave which are decorated by multiform stalagmites and stalactites. We cross the river by a bamboo raft and enjoy a short walk along tunnel.
Upon leaving this site we drive towards Bann Loog Khao Leem. This village is conquered by the Black La Hu Hilltriple People who are very poor, but have an interesting culture and a colorful history. The interesting drive delivers us to Baan Nai Soi, close to the Myanmar Border.
At this small village we enjoy a short walk to visit to the Padong hilltribe village. This ethnic group still retains their old age cultural traditions as most of women attempt to have long neck by wearing numerous brass rings around their neck from an early age.

Day 5: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Mae Hong Son – Khun Yuam – Mae Chaem – Adventure packages (B/L/-)
The sightseeing tour of Mae Hong Son would not be complete without a visit to Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang, just some of the town’s most famous Burmese style monastaries. The first structure was constructed around 200 year ago by the Shan people whilst Wat Jong Klang houses an old glass painting and many wood carvings which depict the various lives of Buddha.
A next stop is Doi Kong Moo, which dominates the town and therefore affords a wonderful view of surrounding areas. Heading out of town we make our way to Mae Chaem, with stopover at Khum Yuam Museum to visit the remaining of the Second World War. This is a long day journey, but the spectacular countryside and many enjoyable stops will make the hardship all worthwhile.
We arrive in Mae Chaem and change our pace as we embark on bamboo raft for an hour excursion in impressive and peaceful atmosphere along Mae Chaem River.

Day 6: Northern Thailand Venture Tour In Focus: Mae Chaem – Chiang Mai – Biking trips (B/L/-)
Today we experience a short biking trip to the nearby market, seeing a wide array of local foods, fruits and vegetables from the wild. Upon leaving this conglomeration we continue to Wat Padaed, one of the most famous temple in locality and a monk’s school to watch young students on course.
The next stop is a weaving village consisting of 150 families who make the beautiful tissue for local use and exportation. We leave our bike and board our car to conquer the highest peak of Doi Inthanon National Park which is home to various kind of the plantation and wild life.
Along the way we make stopover at the Wachiratharn Waterfalls and a Karen hilltribe village. This ethnic group is originated from Burma, but had settled there long time ago, forming the largest tribal population in northern Thailand. The national park of Doi Inthanon also offers plenty of activities to choose from, some of which are trekking, hiking, bird watching. We do one of them and return to Chiang Mai to complete our expeditions.
