This magnificent complex is a must-see in Thailand and is regarded by many as a living example of the classical Siamese royal court, once serving as the residence of the Kings of Thailand.
Continue to Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Wat Pho is regarded as Thailand’s first center of public education and is sometimes called “Thailand’s first university.” Its mural paintings, inscriptions, and statues were created to educate people on various subjects, including literature, warfare, archaeology, astronomy, geology, meditation, and traditional medicine. The temple is also considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.

In the morning, after breakfast, meet your driver and guide, then drive to the former capital of Thailand to visit Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and the ruins of the Ancient City of Ayutthaya.
This full-day tour takes you to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand, located approximately 75 kilometres north of Bangkok and considered one of the country’s must-see historical destinations. The city’s rich cultural exchange began in the mid-16th century, when ships from Ayutthaya sailed across Asian seas, trading with neighbouring countries. When the Dutch arrived in the 17th century, Ayutthaya developed into an important port city, with trade routes extending to China, Japan, Indonesia, Portugal, Holland, France, and later even Scandinavian countries.
Although the ancient foreign trading villages along the Chao Phraya River were abandoned after the city was sacked by Burmese troops in 1767, some remnants still remain, reflecting Ayutthaya’s past glory.
The tour begins with a visit to the Summer Palace of the late King Rama V, commonly known as Bang Pa-In, a beautiful royal complex with elegant architecture and peaceful gardens. You will then continue to the magnificent ruins that have made Ayutthaya famous around the world. During the tour, we will pass by or visit the most impressive ruins of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, with plenty of time for photos.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Ayutthaya and experience the local culinary scene. After lunch, return to Bangkok by coach, where we will transfer you back to your hotel.
Note: Please be aware that proper attire is required to enter the Summer Palace grounds. Our team will be pleased to advise you accordingly.
