Besides your personal experience on the trail with your Elephant, the money of your tour fee will be aiding to host the protected Elephants in the “Elephant Village”, as well as supporting the development work in the rural area of the Ban Xieng Lom village, which is located next to the Elephant Village project. You are part of this engagement to protect and maintain a new perspective and better future to our former logging and working Elephants in Laos! You will be more than a tourist, you are part of the project for this good cause!


Itinerary :

LUANG PRABANG FAMILY HOLIDAY OF ELEPHANT RIDING

Your Pick up service will await you in front of your hotel, at about 8:30-9:00. (or pre-arranged pick up point) Together with your local guide you will proceed to the Elephant Project and the “Elephant Village” about 15 km out of town and in the middle of a green, natural surrounding, settled on the banks of the Nam Khan river.

Here you will be introduced to the protected Asian Elephants and go out for a scenic ride in the beautiful settings along the river. Enjoy the new perspective and the wonderful nature on this 1 hour Elephant ride through which you support the rescue of our former logging Elephants. A stunning landscape, tranquility and lush nature gives you a relaxed stay on the back of the Elephant. Lean back in your seat and enjoy…

Lunch will be served on the river view terrace overlooking the Nam Khan river and the surrounding landscapes.

A short boat ride will bring you to the amazing Tad Sae waterfalls (not in dry season from Jan-August). Here you can hang out and relax for a while in the refreshing cascades. A short boat trip will bring you back to the Elephant Village. A transfer back to Luang Prabang will be arranged and you should arrive back in town about 14:00, depending on your personal activities today.

This Elephant interaction and learning program is a great example for sustainable tourism and a positive symbioses between visitors activities and community based cooperation helping to protect the Elephants at the same time. Your visit really makes a difference!

Your Elephant program at Elephant Village: The Elephant Tour consists of a scenic Elephant ride about 60 min. depending on the trail & weather conditions. You cannot choose the route yourself, as the trails might change from day to day depending on weather and the elephants mood! Normally our Elephant Riding activities will go through some forest and plantation parts as well as the Nam Khan river area.

Elephant activity area: Our Elephant activity area was discovered and offers the perfect location for outdoor activities and the right setting for the Elephant interaction programs. Forests, a winding river, a wonderful waterfall and an impressive mountain range provides the perfect place for your special Elephant interaction trip outside of Luang Prabang. The Elephant Village shows displays and information about the Elephant habits and Asian Elephants in general as well as a personal story about each animal which is hosted within the project compound.
