Day 1. Luang Prabang – Embarkation

In the afternoon, you will embark on your comfortable Laotian cruise ship. These unique vessels are the first German-Laotian owned river ships with cabins on the upper Mekong. Settle into your accommodating cabin and unpack for a five-day cruise. (Check-in is at 2 pm). For today, your cruise ship will remain in Luang Prabang, giving you the opportunity to explore this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage town. Before dinner, you can explore the daily night market, where local minorities sell their handicrafts. Back on board, enjoy the spacious decks, lounge on board, and attend your welcome reception and dinner this evening. A selection of Asian and European food will be provided throughout the cruise. Day 2. Downstream Cruise Through Northern Laos from Luang Prabang to Vientiane: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si – Xayabouri Dam

In the early morning, you will be able to visit the traditional giving of alms in the streets of Luang Prabang. Back onboard, during breakfast, your vessel starts for your spectacular river cruise downstream into formerly inaccessible parts of the Mekong River. Later, a guided shore excursion will take you to the Kuang Si waterfalls, some of the most attractive waterfalls in Laos. In the afternoon, don’t miss passing the log of the Xayabouri dam, the biggest hydropower facility in the whole of Laos. Today, your cruise vessel will moor overnight at a remote sandbank. Day 3. The farming village Ban Don Saingam

On the way, you will visit an almost forgotten cave and experience nature on some easy hiking trails. Enjoy the beautiful view and possibly watch local fishermen along the shore. We also offer presentations on the history and culture of Laos that you are free to join or relax on deck. Enjoy the comfort and service on board: exclusive, yet casual. This evening, we enjoy our famous Mekong River Cruises BBQ dinner in a beautiful riverside location. Overnights on board. (BLD)

Day 4. Downstream Cruise Through Northern Laos from Luang Prabang to Vientiane: Fascinating rapids & the district town Salakham

Further downstream, you will discover some of the most remarkable, most impressive landscapes of this still-untamed river. The landscape becomes more and more spectacular: hills covered with tropical vegetation, awe-inspiring rock formations along the river banks, and a fascinating array of fast currents and slower river parts. During the day, you will visit the dreamy district town Salakham. The power of the mighty Mekong will give your cruise the feeling of a real expedition. Enjoy the beautiful views and watch nature’s wonders along the riverbanks before you head further downriver and stop for the night. Overnight on board. (BLD)

Day 5. Wild Nature along the Mighty Mekong

During the day, you will continuously cruise down-river, where you will discover some of the most remarkable and impressive landscapes. In the afternoon, enjoy the beautiful views and watch nature’s wonders along the shores before you stop at a remote place to stay for the night. Overnight on board. (BLD)

Day 6. Downstream Cruise Through Northern Laos from Luang Prabang to Vientiane: Vientiane

Enjoy the beautiful views and watch nature’s wonders along the riverbanks before you head towards Vientiane, the capital of Laos. In Vientiane you will say goodbye to your Lao crew. Check out and disembarkation.
