This venerable site has a statue of Neak Ta Khleang Moeang respected and worshipped by the Cambodian people. Oknha Kleang Meung was a Khmer national hero who defeated the Thais in a celebrated battle in 1482. The statue is newly made and put at the right place because the ancient statue is completely damaged by the civil war. This is sacred place prayed and worshipped by tourists who come from the near and far areas.
Kleang Meung’s tomb is about 5km out of town in the direction of Battambang, down a little road on the left after the bridge that marks the end of tarmac.
